What is Special Care Planning?
For parents of a loved one with special needs there may come a time, through sickness, disability or death, when you will not be able to provide care for them. For this reason, many families choose to go through the Special Care Planning process. This planning process involves a broad range of solutions and plans designed to help secure the future of loved ones with special needs.
The following workshops will be offered:

Letter of Intent
Tuesday, April 27th 6:30-8:00
Parents will complete a letter of intent for their child, a critical document in creating a life care plan. This includes family and hereditary information, medical history, medications and dosage amounts, educational plans, work arrangements, religion and practices, and other significant information about your child. It also gives your loved one's caregiver an immediate insight into what a typical day will entail.
The Special Care Planner receives advanced training and information in estate and tax planning concepts, special needs trusts, government programs, and the emotional dynamics of working with people with disabilities and other special needs and their families. The certificate program is offered by The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA, exclusively for Mass Mutual financial professionals. The information provided is not written or intended as tax or legal advice and may not be relied on for purposes of avoiding any Federal tax penalties. Mass Mutual, its employees and representatives are not authorized to give tax or legal advice. Individuals are encouraged to seek advice from their own tax or legal counsel. Individuals involved in the estate planning process should work with an estate planning team, including their own personal legal or tax counsel.
