 a Special Care Planner.\n\nWhat is Special Care Planning?\nFor parents
  of a loved one with special needs there may come a time, through sick
 ness, disability or death, when you will not be able to provide care f
 or them. For this reason, many families choose to go through the Speci
 al Care Planning process. This planning process involves a broad range
  of solutions and plans designed to help secure the future of loved on
 es with special needs.\n\nThe following workshops will be offered:\n\n

 y/Guardianship\nTuesday, January 26th 6:30-8:00\nDesigned for parents 
 whose children are transition age and older, this workshop addresses t
 he legal and financial implications of a child turning 18. Age of majo
 rity, guardianship, and changes in benefits are discussed.\n\n\nWills,
  Trusts, and Estate Planning\nTuesday, February 23rd 6:30-8:00\nThe le
 gal process will be covered and financial and tax implications of esta
 te and trust planning will be addressed.\n\n\nGovernment Benefits\nTue
 sday, March 16th 6:30-8:00\nAn overview of Medicaid, Medicare, SSI, SS
 DI and additional government programs and funding options, as well as 
 what qualifications are necessary. This will also include state specif
 ic information.\n\n\nLetter of Intent\nTuesday, April 27th 6:30-8:00\n
 Parents will complete a letter of intent for their child, a critical d
 ocument in creating a life care plan. This includes family and heredit
 ary information, medical history, medications and dosage amounts, educ
 ational plans, work arrangements, religion and practices, and other si
 gnificant information about your child. It also gives your loved one's
  caregiver an immediate insight into what a typical day will entail.\n
 \n\nThe Special Care Planner receives advanced training and informatio
 n in estate and tax planning concepts, special needs trusts, governmen
 t programs, and the emotional dynamics of working with people with dis
 abilities and other special needs and their families. The certificate 
 program is offered by The American College in Bryn Mawr, PA, exclusive
 ly for Mass Mutual financial professionals. The information provided i
